A MESSAGE TO MY LOVELY DOG WALKING CLIENTS! As many of you know, I (Jessica) have been working full time as a dog walker for quite some time now and my Mom (Holly) has been working alongside me as much as she can part time whilst also working her full time job as a community carer. It has been a dream of ours to be able to both work full time together in our passion and love for animals since I started up nine years ago as a hobby pet sitter. It was my Mom and her Mom (my Grandmother) who passed their love for animals down to me from a young age as I was brought up around animals my entire life working in my Nans rescue Cattery after school and on the weekends and taking in any strays and acquiring many new members of animal family on a regular basis at home with my Mom. This month it gives me great pleasure in mentioning that my Mom has finally been able to hand her notice in at her previous job to follow her dreams of working with animals full time with me! Her first day as my full time business partner will be Monday 12th October 2015! If you haven't met her already, please meet my Mother; Holly (pictured below): Following this exciting news, we have also become increasingly busy over the past couple of months due to an influx of over 10 new dog walking clients in the last month alone and more booked in to start with us next month! And although we are very excited that we are growing so rapidly, it has become very much apparent that even with my Mom going full time with me next week, we are in much need of some more help to meet the demands of all our clients and ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently in line with our care agreements. So in conclusion to this issue, we have been searching for new members of bank staff to join our dog walking team bringing me to our next announcement... Meet Jo! (Pictured below with her dog Red): Jo will be starting her training with me to become a part of the Little Paws Team tomorrow! Here is a little bit about Jo...
Jo and her family moved to Sutton Coldfield around 18 months ago and now that her son has started secondary school she has a fair amount of spare time on her hands! Jo has owned dogs for nearly 20 years and currently has two young border collies and owns a variety of other pets such as 3 x cats, 3 x ferrets, 2 x hamsters, 1 x mouse and 4 x gerbils. In addition to having experience of domestic pets she also has experience with British wildlife as she worked voluntarily for the British Wildlife Rescue Centre just outside of Stafford for over five years (2008-2013). More recently she worked voluntarily for Age UK as a Physical Activity Trainer (2013-2014), however due to their move to Sutton Coldfield had to finish. She enjoys walking dogs in all weathers and thoroughly enjoys working outdoors (even in miserable weather). Upon meeting with Jo, it was immediately apparent that Jo is honest, friendly, eager to work hard and above all has a real love for working with all animals and people. Jo has been fully vetted personally by me. She carries a valid up to date clean DBS check, a full clean driving licence and a suitable vehicle to transfer customers pets. She has a dogs 1st aid certificate and is also currently studying a feline 1st aid course. We will see how we get on with the three of us working together and consider adding onto the team if and when required in future. We hope that you will all welcome Jo with open arms as we did! Welcome to the team Jo!!
